Manitoba Wildfire Services Receives Provincial Funding

The Manitoba government is providing funding for Manitoba Wildfire Services.

1.6-million dollars is going towards the water bomber fleet for safety and modernized upgrades.

The investment will allow for the installation of new radios in three CL-215 water bombers, water door warning systems and corrosion protection on four CL-415 water bombers, and the construction of two 12-person bunkhouses in Wekusko Falls.

The upgrades will be implemented by Babcock Canada Inc. which operates and maintains Manitoba’s water bomber fleet.
