Today Is Red Dress Day

Today is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and at 4 p.m., a memorial honour walk will be held at 4 p.m., starting at the Yorkton Tribal Council office, on King Street East. YTC Tribal Chief Isabel O’Soup will join her fellow elected women chiefs at the Saskatchewan Legislature today, as MLA Betty Nippi-Albright reads out the FSIN Declaration to Honour Indigenous Women and Girls. That grew from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.
