Eastern Saskatchewan and Western Manitoba got soaked on Friday, as a low pressure system brought lots of rain, heavy at times in some areas.
Here are some areas in Saskatchewan and their rainfall totals from yesterday (Fri): Yorkton, 42.5mm, Broadview 31.4mm, Wynyard 47.4mm, Indian Head 34.1mm, and Hudson Bay 24.2mm.
In western Manitoba: Shoal Lake recorded 13mm, The Pas 14mm, Dauphin 30mm and Swan River had 56.4mm.
“Usually see around 60mm of rain during the whole month of May,” Precision Weather Meteorologist Paul Janus Jr. said of the Yorkton area’s rainfall total in comparison with the monthly average. “So to see it halfway through the month to get two-thirds of the amount of a 30-year average is pretty incredible.”
“In fact, the last 7 of the 14 days we’ve had for the beginning of May have been rainy,” Janus Jr. added.
However, he says the forecast for the remainder of the weekend will be dry.
According to the latest Precision Weather Forecast, tonight (Sat) will see cloudiness thinning out with a low of plus 2, tomorrow (Sun) partly to mostly sunny and a high of 15, and tomorrow night mostly clear with frost possible and a low of zero. For tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night there is zero chance of precipitation.
