An RCMP officer was treated for minor injuries after a single vehicle accident in The Pas.

Early Saturday morning, an officer from The Pas RCMP was transporting a prisoner in a police vehicle, when he collided with a pole in the parking lot of a business on Fisher Avenue.

Both the officer and the 51-year-old prisoner were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries and then were released.

An investigation remains ongoing and the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba has been notified of the collision.
