Trial Wrapped Up For Pukatawagan Man Charged With Second Degree Murder

A 23-year-old Pukatawagan man facing a Second Degree Murder charge, stood trial last week, in The Pas Court of Queen’s Bench.

The trial for August Thunder Caribou wrapped up on Friday (13th), with the judge reserving a decision to a later date.

Mounties were called to a wooded area of the community in June of 2020, where they found the body of a 22-year-old woman.

Pukatawagan RCMP say Caribou started working as a guard at the detachment earlier that month, but they stress there is no link between his employment, the victim, and the charges against him.
