New cases of COVID-19, hospital admissions drop in Manitoba

Another decrease in COVID-19 activity in Manitoba.

During the week of May 8-14, 728 new lab-confirmed cases were recorded, down from the previous week’s 902.

People tested per day went down to an average of 766 compared to 832 in the previous week, but the positivity rate of lab tests was 18.5%, up from 17.6%.

Hospital admissions dropped to 143 from 196 the previous week, and 16 are in intensive care, an increase of 3.

Deaths due to COVID-19 were up to 16 from 11 the week prior.
