The May long weekend also means the traditional arrival of roadwork season across Saskatchewan, and the province is noting some of the work that is scheduled to be done this year.

Overall in 2022, the SaskParty government is investing 453 million dollars in capital projects, with a goal of upgrading over 1,100 kilometres of provincial highways this year, part of their overall goal of improving 10,000 kilometres of highway, as stated in their ten-year Growth Plan.

One local highlight of this year’s work, is the improvement of Highway 38, leading into Greenwater Provincial Park.

As well, the plan is to complete 14 sets of passing lanes across the province in 2022, including some on Highway 16.
