Yellow Quill First Nation man charged with Attempted Murder has new court date

A new court date has been set for a Yellow Quill First Nation man who stood trial last month, on charges stemming from an attempted murder in the fall of 2020.

In October of 2020, RCMP say the victim met three people outside of a Regina nightclub, and left in a vehicle with them.

The suspects then allegedly beat, tortured and robbed the victim, before leaving them unconscious in a field, north of Fort Qu’Appelle, with serious injuries.

25-year-old Austin Severight remains in custody, and will make his next appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday (24th).

Last month, his co-accused, 25-year-old Jenna Hoffman of Wadena, was sentenced to jail time, after entering a guilty plea on three charges, including Aggravated Assault.
