SaskPower crews are out checking power poles across the province

SaskPower will be conducting its annual inspection of wood power poles across the province.

Between now and October, over 101-thousand power poles will be checked for any signs of damage, decay and carpenter ant infestation.

SaskPower will do any repairs or reinforcement where possible, and if not, will flag the poles for replacement.

Areas to be looked over include Shellbrook, Rosthern, Stoughton, Rosetown, Spiritwood, Saskatoon Rural East, La Ronge and Buffalo Narrows.

This year, the utility is investing over $6.6-million into the testing and treatment of wood power poles.

No outages are expected to occur as a result of this work.
