The Western Premier’s Conference kicks off in Regina today (Fri) with Premier Scott Moe chairing the meeting.
Health transfers will be a key topic at the meeting, as the premiers are seeking an increase of the federal government’s share of costs.
Currently Ottawa puts up 22 percent through the transfer, although the western leaders are hoping to see that number increase to 35 percent.
Today’s discussions will include the premiers of BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon.
