Charges laid following alleged firearm discharge on Cowessess First Nation

Broadview RCMP caught a 37-year-old man who was the subject of an arrest warrant.

The warrant stems from an alleged firearms discharge on the Cowessess First Nation May 22, but no one was injured during the incident.

Broadview Mounties say the suspect ran into the bush, and after a search that involved officers from Esterhazy and Melville, as well as Yorkton Police Dog Services, the suspect was eventually located in a clothes dryer in the basement of a Cowessess home on May 30.

Andy Tanner, of Cowessess First Nation, is facing two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose when he appears in Broadview court on June 22.
