A Sask. Man Has Been Sentenced For His Role In A Violent Incident

Sentencing has been handed down to a Yellow Quill First Nation man, convicted in connection with a violent incident in the fall of 2020. Last month, 25-year-old Austin Severight pled guilty to Kidnapping, Robbery and Theft, and yesterday in Regina, he was sentenced to an additional 1,988 days in prison, after being given credit for time served. In October of 2020, RCMP say the victim met three people outside of a Regina nightclub, and left in a vehicle with them. The suspects are alleged to have beaten, tortured and robbed the victim, before leaving them unconscious and seriously injured, in a field north of Fort Qu’Appelle.
