Some Seeding Progress In Manitoba

Crop progress in Manitoba is about a month behind schedule, due to repeated weather-related delays. Manitoba Agriculture’s Dane Froese says weather and soil conditions have led to shifting acreage plans, or order-of-operations changes. Seeding progress in the province sits at about 65 percent complete, well behind the 5-year average of 96 percent for this time of year. Froese says mornings and evenings have been relatively calm, allowing for some herbicide and insecticide application.
