Drugs, cash seized during traffic stop in Dauphin, one arrest made

A traffic stop in Dauphin resulted in drugs seized and additional charges against a man who was wanted on previous warrants.

Last Tuesday (June 14), officers from the West District CREST Unit stopped a vehicle on Vermillion Place in Dauphin, and found a 40-year-old male passenger who had two outstanding arrest warrants for trafficking methamphetamine and other firearm-related offences.

A search of the passenger’s backpack led to cash, 157 grams of meth, 5 grams of cocaine and other drug-related paraphernalia being seized.

Officers arrested Trevor Sutherland on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Police say Sutherland was also facing previous charges from investigations where meth was seized following two separate search warrants.
