A Yorkton Woman Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges

A Yorkton woman arrested in connection with a drug bust in the city, has appeared in court again. On April 20th, Mounties raided a home on Dracup Avenue, and seized about two hundred pieces of a substance believed to be cocaine, as well as a quantity of cash. In Yorkton Provincial Court yesterday, 50-year-old Karen Hiebert of Yorkton, pled guilty to Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and received 18 months of probation, a ten-year firearm ban, and was ordered to provide a DNA sample. Her co-accused, 29-year-old Rick Lam of Edmonton, and 19-year-old Opeyemi Jalade of St. Catharines, Ontario, will appear again in Yorkton next Monday.
