2 Men Facing Yorkton Drug Charges Skipped Their Court Appearances

Two men arrested in connection with a drug bust in Yorkton earlier this year, have new court dates. 29-year-old Rick Lam of Edmonton, and 19-year-old Opeyemi Jalade of St. Catharines, Ontario, failed to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court yesterday. Jalade’s next appearance was set for next Monday, while Lam’s matters were adjourned to July 25th but if they fail to show again, warrants will be issued for their arrest. On April 20th, Mounties raided a home on Dracup Avenue, and seized about two hundred pieces of a substance believed to be cocaine, as well as a quantity of cash. Last week, their co-accused, 50-year-old Karen Hiebert, pled guilty to Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and received 18 months of probation.
