The recent heat in Saskatchewan has meant SaskPower has set a new summer demand record for electricity. The power company’s Joel Cherry says 3,551 megawatts were used Wednesday, just beating the previous mark of 3,547 megawatts set June 30th, 2021. Cherry says if the heat continues as forecast, we could well see a new record set in the next few days.
