COVID-19 activity in Manitoba dropped compared to the previous week

Manitoba recorded less new cases of COVID-19 last week than it did the previous week.

For the reporting period of July 10-16, 171 new cases were recorded, compared to 229 the previous week.

The volume of lab tests increased to on average 276 people tested for COVID-19 per day compared to 269 in the previous week, and the weekly test positivity rate is 13.9 percent, a decrease from 14.8 percent in the previous week.

A decrease in severe outcomes was observed – 52 hospital admissions and 2 ICU admissions, down from 59 and 7, respectively. Another 2 deaths bring the total to 2,056.
