Yorkton’s Tribal Council Chief Is Happy With The Pope’s Apology

The pope’s apology yesterday in Edmonton for the abuse many Indigenous people received in Canadian residential schools run by the Catholic Church is being welcomed by the Chief of the Yorkton Tribal Council. Tribal Chief Isabelle O’Soup says she was happy to hear the apology, but says a lot of healing needs to continue for First Nations people, and action is needed to carry out the pope’s words.
