SaskPower is paying more for natural gas used to generate electricity, and they’re passing the cost on to us. The rate review panel has approved a total increase of 8%, which will be phased in starting September 1st. For the average homeowner, it means an extra 4%, or $5 per month this fall, and another 4%, or $5 per month hike April 1st next year.
