The City of Melville reported an operating surplus of over $2.2-million after the second quarter of this year, ending June 30th. As of June 30th, revenues before capital grants totaled over $8.8-million, and expenses were over $6.6-million. Revenues are about 5.3 percent higher than at this time last year due to rate increases implemented earlier this year, and the return of recreation revenues that were not realized in 2020-21 as a result of the pandemic.
