Calls For Ottawa To Reduce Restrictions For Ukrainian Refugees Wanting To Work In Sask.

The province’s Minister of Immigration and Career Training is hoping Ottawa will reduce restrictions impacting the ability of Ukrainians, fleeing the war in their homeland, to work in rural Saskatchewan. Jeremy Harrison says all Ukrainian newcomers with a valid work permit are now eligible for provincial job grants and training subsidy funds, and criticizes demands being made by the federal government so newly arrived Ukrainians can be allowed better access to work in rural areas.
