Saskatchewan Recognizes International Overdose Awareness Day

Saskatchewan is recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day, today.

The provincial government has invested 470-million dollars for mental health and addictions services in 2022/23, including 67-million dollars for harm reduction, prevention, detox, and treatment initiatives.

Some major initiatives includes 3.8-million dollars in harm reduction supports, 2.1-million dollars in the first year of a three year commitment for 150 new addictions treatment spaces and 1-million dollars for a Drug Task Force.

Take home Naloxone kits are also available for Saskatchewan residents at over 225 sites across the province.
