Yesterday (Thu), Health Canada approved Moderna’s Bivalent COVID-vaccine.
Adults 65-and-older, Indigenous people 18-and-up, adults with higher-risk medical conditions, health-care workers 18-and-up and residents of personal care home or congregate living settings are the first eligible to receive the bivalent vaccine in Manitoba.
Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Jazz Atwal say the province is expecting to receive 27,650 doses next week.
Individuals must have received the first two doses of the vaccine before they can receive a bivalent booster, and six months must pass since they received their second shot.
