National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be recognized by the Manitoba government.
On September 30th, all public servants and all non-essential government services and offices will be closed.
Schools will also be closed on the 30th, however, early learning and child-care facilities are encouraged to remain open as essential services supporting Manitoba families.
Legislation officially making the day a statutory holiday in Manitoba has not been introduced as consultation continue with Indigenous leadership, residential school survivors and other stakeholders.
