An update on one of Melville’s big construction projects.
Westridge Construction, the contractor for the new Lift Station Number 1 project, located north of Main Street, has been granted an exemption to the City’s noise bylaw.
This will allow Westridge to connect a new sanitary line to the Lift Station, and will need to temporarily run above ground pumps to direct sewage.
Westridge will inform affected residents ahead of time, as the work is scheduled for October 3-10th.
This exemption is similar to one granted this past February, which allowed the contractor to do 24/7 backfill of the Lift Station.
