A guilty plea has been entered by one of four people charged in connection with a pair of incidents on July 28th, that Carlyle RCMP say are connected. Yesterday in Carlyle Court, Justin Desjarlias admitted to Aggravated Assault, and sentencing was set for October 26th. On the evening of July 28, 2021, police were called to investigate an alleged assault outside a business on the Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation, that left a man seriously injured, and about an hour later, Mounties were notified that someone had discharged a firearm at a vehicle on the White Bear First Nation. Last month, 22-year-old Demetrius Standingready pled guilty to Assault with a Weapon, and was sentenced to 300 days in jail, and he will appear in Estevan Court next Thursday, on separate charges related to a November 2021 drug and firearm bust in Kisbey.
