Sask. Hunters Can Help Battle CWD

To aid in the battle against Chronic Wasting Disease, Saskatchewan’s environment ministry is encouraging hunters to submit samples from deer, moose, and elk killed in boreal transition zones and along the province’s eastern border, for free testing. Samples are requested from the following wildlife management zones:  2W, 9, 10, 35, 37,  and 50. CWD infects the central nervous system in these animals, and is always fatal in affected animals, affecting their populations. Heads can be left at designated drop-off spots across the province, but before doing so, hunters must obtain a CWD tracking number from www.cwdsk.ca.
