An update regarding the September 4th attacks on the James Smith Cree Nation and the village of Weldon, was provided by the Saskatchewan RCMP.
Assistant Commander Rhonda Blackmore confirmed that Damian Sanderson was killed by his brother Myles, and that Myles had committed all 11 homicides that day.
However, Blackmore stated that Damian was involved in the planning and preparations of the attacks, while both brothers committed three separate assaults on the reserve prior to September 4th, that were not reported to police.
Blackmore added that details will be provided after an inquest is conducted, which is expected to conclude in 2023.
