The Saskatchewan Health Authority has assumed responsibility for 5 Extendicare long term care homes in Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon, effective this past Sunday. 13 hundred Extendicare staff will transition to the Authority, which purchased all 5 properties. The SHA announced the move last October after a damning report revealed that company’s failure to contain a deadly COVID-19 outbreak at a Regina facility.
