Shoal Lake RCMP probe fatal two-vehicle collision in R.M. of Yellowhead

Shoal Lake RCMP is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision between two semis early Friday afternoon (Oct. 14) in the R.M. of Yellowhead.

The RCMP’s initial investigation determined a semi-truck with trailers was northbound on Road 139 West, and was crossing Highway 42 when it was unsafe to do so, and collided with a semi heading west on that Highway.

The driver and sole occupant of the westbound semi, a 55-year-old Shoal Lake man, who RCMP say was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of northbound semi, a 61-year-old man, had minor injuries.
