Parkland College will be getting $360 thousand over 3 years to study land based learning in partnership with the Yorkton Tribal Council. Land based learning is used by the Tribal Council’s department of education at all 4 of their schools to connect indigenous youth to their identity and language. A research team from the college will determine how the program is improving retention, graduation rates and student success at the facilities.
