Saskatchewan’s Workers Compensation Board is increasing their average employer premium rate in 2023 to $1.28 per hundred dollars of payroll, compared to the 2022 rate of $1.23. The WCB kept rates lower than the premium in both 2021 and 22 to help employers deal with the extra pressure of the pandemic. Not charging the required premium rate in 2021 and 2022 saved employers $14.0 million in 2021 and is expected to save them another $4.8 million in 2022. The new rates take effect in 2023.
