Yorkton Hyundai teamed up with KidSport Yorkton for the month of October by donating 100-dollars for every car sold or ordered that month.
45-hundred dollars was raised for KidSport Yorkton, and Chairman Doug Jonassen was amazed by the total raised by Yorkton Hyundai.
“I was expecting about 2,500 dollars and when (Principal Owner of Yorkton Hyundai) Ron (Kaban) showed it was 4,500 is such a good help for the local Yorkton Kidsport” Jonassen said.
“It’s what keeps things going, and like I said, every family in Yorkton per child they can apply for 500 dollars for a sport, so it doesn’t have to be for one sport. They 250 (dollars) for hockey and then 250 (dollars) for ball next year. It can help in different sports throughout the year.” he added.
“I just felt the need to try to get as much money raised [as] we can for this very great cause,” Kaban said of why they decided to partner with Yorkton Kidsport. “I’m glad Doug came up to me when he did and I always like to give back. I especially like to give to local initiatives whenever anything’s going on; I make sure it staying local and helps local kids.”
