The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce held their business lunch at the Gallagher Centre yesterday (Tues).
Guest Speaker for the lunch was Conservative MP for Yorkton-Melville Cathay Wagantall.
Wagantall shared her observations about how the government is handling different issues in the House of Commons, and some of her party’s solutions.
Among the topics was the Emergencies Act inquiry and the audit of the ArriveCan app, with Cathay Wagantall stating why it’s important to have those inquiries.
“It’s bringing it to another level of accountability outside of the House of Commons, and so that in itself gives opportunity for more people to be heard and to get a better balance to what the testimony is and ultimately what the truth truly is in those circumstances.” explained Wagantall.
Wagantall added that it’s important to Canadians because they don’t like being used and having their tax dollars abused.
Other topics Wagantall spoke on was inflation hitting a 40-year high and the needs our veterans are currently facing.
She noted that there is a large sense of hope and part of that is because of opposition leader Pierre Poilievre.
“So well-versed in all of the issues and has a plan and a purpose and a desire to see Canadians succeed, that is incredibly encouraging” she said of Poilievre.
