A Struggle To Fill Agri-Business Jobs

Like other sectors of the economy, agri-business is having challenges filling job opportunities. A new report from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business says 63 percent of agri-businesses were unable to get all of the staff needed in September, according to policy analyst Taylor Brown, who adds labor shortages in the agricultural sector are not new. Brown says a tax credit for automation would assist some agri-businesses, as would reducing government red tape in hiring temporary foreign workers.
