Manitoba is possibly going to stay on one time permanently.
The Official Time Amendment Act was introduced, which would allow the province consider moving to daylight saving time permanently, should the U.S. do the same and if the majority of Manitobans support it.
The United States is considering a shift to permanent daylight saving time, as are Ontario and B.C.
Municipal Relations Minister Eileen Clarke says the province plans to consult with residents and stakeholders to hear how this potential change would affect them, and identify supports to ensure a smoother transition.
Clarke also says the transition would also make business relations, trade and travel easier with the U.S.
