The Water Security Agency released its Winter Forecast report.
According to the WSA, while some areas of Saskatchewan received higher spring and early summer precipitation, the last half of summer and early fall resulted in drier than normal soil moisture conditions.
At this time, the WSA does not believe there is a heightened risk of above normal spring runoff in 2023, however, there are concerns of surface water supply issues in the southwest section of the province.
So far, most water supply reservoirs in southern and central Saskatchewan have adequate supplies.
