An Update On Yorkton’s Apartment Fire

Yorkton fire chief Trevor Morrissey has given us an update on the fire at an apartment building at Riverview and Ashwood. He says crews continue securing the site, and expects investigators will be able to access the rubble in the next day or 2. He also says a gas line that ruptured yesterday has been capped, and is no longer an issue. Crews were called out Monday night to one fire, and extinguished it, but were called back yesterday morning to a different blaze. An explosion in the 2nd floor resulted in 2 firefighters having minor injuries, and Morrissey says there are indications the structure was broken into before the 2nd fire.
