Saskatchewan experienced the highest increase of merchandise exports among other provinces.
Statistics Canada reported a 47.5 percent increase in exports in October this year compared to October 2021.
It also cited merchandise exports in Saskatchewan increased by 22.1 per cent in October 2022, compared to September 2022, while the first ten months of this year saw an increase of 43.2 per cent, compared to the same period in 2021. It places Saskatchewan second among the provinces in percentage change in both areas.
Saskatchewan’s merchandise exports were $4.4 billion in October.
Metal ores, non-metallic minerals, and industrial machinery, equipment and parts lead the year-over-year export growth, with increases of 101.2 per cent and 67 per cent respectively.
