The population of Saskatchewan is over 1.2-million people.
1,205,119 to be exact, as of October 1st, 2022, after an increase of 10-thousand 316 people in the 3rd quarter of this year.
The growth in the 3rd quarter was largely driven by net international migration of 10-thousand 553, followed by a natural increase, or births, of 1-thousand 261, then offset by 1-thousand 498 people leaving the province for elsewhere.
Numbers also show year-over-year growth of the province’s population grew by 22-thousand 135.
The latest quarterly population growth is the largest ever recorded since Statistics Canada began releasing quarterly population estimates in 1971, according to the province.
Premier Scott Moe says at this rate, the province is on track to its Growth Plan goal of 1.4-million people by 2030.
