The Saskatchewan government is reminding people to include the Highway Hotline in their travel plans this holiday season.
The province says maps and information are updated at least 3 times per day or as condition require, and the Highway Hotline is available as an app through Google Play or the App Store, online, or by phone by dialing 511.
Last year, the provincial road information system recorded 13 million visits.
Highways Minister Jeremy Cockrill says they’ve recently added 6 more cameras to monitor roads and report on the latest road conditions.
Three of the new cameras are within the Parkland Region – One on Highway 1 at Wapella, another on Highway 9 at Round Lake, and the 3rd at the Highway 46 Overpass over Highway 1 at Balgonie.
Other new camera locations include Highway 4 at Sask Landing, Highway 1 at the Tower Road Interchange at Regina, and at the Uranium City Airport.
