There’s been an urgent call for blood donors. Canadian Blood Services is facing a shortfall of about 1,500 or ten per cent of its expected blood and plasma collections. Spokesperson Tracy Smith says weather over the Christmas holidays has impacted collections and ability to distribute product, making it difficult for staff to get in, and for donors to make the trip safely.
