Firefighters from Ebenezer, Rhien, and Yorkton responded to a house fire in Ebenezer just before 3 o’clock yesterday morning (Wed).
Ebenezer Fire Chief Ray Miller says the fire apparently started in the southeast corner of the home, quickly spreading throughout, and only the garage was left standing.
While the exact cause of the fire is unclear, Miller says the homeowner suspects one of the cats may have knocked something over to spark the fire. Two dead cats were found in the rubble.
Miller says the fire department will be holding a fundraiser supper for the homeowner on January 14th at the Ebenezer Community Centre. A GoFundMe page has been set up with a fundraising goal of $10-thousand.
