GX94 Looks Back At September 2022’s Top News Story

In September, the Commanding Officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP detailed the events leading up to the arrest of Myles Sanderson, wanted in a mass stabbing at the James Smith Cree Nation and the Village of Weldon. Rhonda Blackmore says officers located a stolen vehicle south of Rosthern on Highway 11, forced it into the ditch, and made the arrest. Sanderson died in custody, and Blackmore says we may never know the motive. The RCMP requested the Saskatoon Police and Saskatchewan Incident Response Team conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
