A man from Dauphin has been arrested in connection to an assault of a child.

On New Year’s Eve, Mounties responded to a report of a serious assault of a 6-year-old, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation determined that the assault occurred days earlier, but had not been reported to police.

The 25-year-old male suspect was arrested yesterday, and charged with Aggravated Assault.

His name is not being released to protect the identity of the child.
