Manitoba To Increase Outflow From Shellmouth Dam

Outflow from the Shellmouth Dam will be increased in preparation for the spring runoff from the upper Assiniboine River.

Starting tomorrow, the outflow will increase to 500 cubic feet per second from the current 195 cubic feet per second.

This release will raise the Assiniboine River water levels by one to two feet between the Shellmouth Dam and Brandon.

Residents are asked to take precautions, as the rise in water levels may create unsafe conditions on the river and along the shoreline.
