Charges against Swan River man stayed

A new development in the case of a Swan River man, who was arrested in Winnipeg, on warrants from both Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Last May, RCMP say they located about 27 grams of crystal meth, a weapon, and drug-related paraphernalia in the possession of 31-year-old Matthew Barker.

A subsequent search of a hotel room netted officers several loaded handguns.

Barker, who also faced charges from Hudson Bay, had all of the offences against him stayed by the Crown Prosecutor in Swan River yesterday (Wed).
