New court date for San Clara man charged with hitting RCMP officer with vehicle

A San Clara man accused of hitting a Roblin RCMP officer with his vehicle, has appeared in court again.

31-year-old Matthew Paul will return to Roblin on February 16th.

Last July, an RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop at a campground on Highway 83 in Roblin, in which he told the driver that the vehicle would be towed, because it wasn’t registered.

The suspect then allegedly got into the vehicle, reversed at a high rate of speed, and struck the officer, before leaving the scene.
