Parkland College and Cumberland College to officially merge July 1st

The Province of Saskatchewan has given the go-ahead for the merger of Parkland College and Cumberland College, effective July 1st.

In a release, Interim President and CEO, Alison Dubreuil, says students and communities will be better served, through the development of new programming, shared resources, and increased opportunities for partnerships.

The two institutions will spend the next five months preparing for the merger, which will be done in phases, and will see the college undergo a rebranding, to include a new name and logo.

Parkland College features six campuses, in Yorkton, Melville, Kamsack, Esterhazy, Canora and Fort Qu’Appelle, while Cumberland College has campuses in three centres – Nipawin, Melfort and Tisdale.

Cumberland and Parkland Colleges have been working together since 2019, with a shared CEO and Board of Governors.
